Our Mission:

The CSO's primary function is to provide Government Ministries and Departments, Non- Governmental Organisations and members of the public in general, with information for monitoring, evaluation and formulation of development plans and programmes. It performs this function through collection, processing and analysis of data; reporting and dissemination of results through publications, workshop and seminars.

The Department is headed by the Government Statistician who is administratively responsible to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
