Labour Statistics
  
Labour Statistics are needed by Government and other users to plan for employment and wages policies in the country. The CSO is responsible for all the major labour market measures produced for Botswana. Through quarterly surveys of employment (March, June, September and December).  Labour Statistics Unit of CSO collects data on formal sector employment levels, average earnings and other characteristics of the workforce. The unit also compiles and analyses data on approved work permits by industry, occupation, work experience, qualification, citizenship of holder etc. The most important information source for labour measures is the national Labour Force Survey (LFS).

Labour Statistics Unit present the quarterly surveys results in its Annual Labour Statistics report. Some of the important data in tabular form are given below :
