Transport and Communications Statistics

The availability and effectiveness of communications, transport infrastructure, services, and indeed information on demand, play a vital role in the speed, level and impact of both social and economic development of any country. This has been the case with Botswana, as these factors have influenced the distribution of both social and economic services throughout the economy.

Transport and communication statistics provides information on the availability and utilization of these facilities in the country. The information is derived from data on road, air, rail and communications (telecommunication, postal, media) facilities and related services.

Transport Statistics Unit collects and compiles transport and communications data and presents them in its Annual Transport and Communications Statistics report.
